Ty McMillan, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

Ty McMillan holds the CrossFit Level 1 trainer certificate (CF-L1), and CrossFit-style training is at the heart of his Dad Bod WOD fitness journey.

What CF-L1 is

The CrossFit Level 1 certificate is CrossFit's entry-level trainer credential. It covers the foundational movements, the CrossFit approach of constantly varied functional movement, and how to coach and scale workouts so they fit different people. Ty lists it on his LinkedIn and in his Instagram bio.

Where the name Dad Bod WOD comes from

"WOD" is CrossFit shorthand for workout of the day. Dad Bod WOD is Ty's name for his own training: CrossFit-style workouts fitted around real life as a busy dad.

Functional movements in action

In these photos Ty pulls a heavy deadlift, climbs a rope and throws a medicine ball, three classic functional movements.
